LARNE Football Club is delighted to announce that Tomas Cosgrove has signed a new contract with the club.

With his contract having been due to expire at the end of the current campaign, Tomas put pen to paper on a new deal today which will take him to the end of the 2021/22 season.

Having arrived in the summer of 2018 from Cliftonville, Tomas immediately made the right back slot his own, helping the club to the Bluefin Sport Championship title in his first season.

His return to the Premiership, which he has won on two occasions at Solitude, has seen another extremely consistent campaign.

Boss Tiernan Lynch was delighted to see the 27-year-old extend his stay.

He said: “Tomas is a very important player for us and we are delighted that he will be continue to be a Larne player on a long-term basis.

“As we continue to strengthen and move forward on this journey it is important we build around the quality players who are already at the club.

“Tomas very much fits into the category and we are really pleased that he has confidence in what we are doing here on a daily basis.

“We know there has been interest shown from other clubs, but Tomas has very much bought into the vision of where want to go.

“I’m absolutely delighted as I believe Tomas is the best right back in the country and with more full-time training and coaching, he will only get better.”
