Sky Sports to Join Title Party

WE are very excited to announce that we will be welcoming Sky Sports News to Inver Park next weekend.

Reporter James Cooper will be joining us for the Bluefin Sports Championship title winning celebrations, as we lift our first league trophy in 47 years.

James and his team, who is a regular at Old Trafford as Sky’s North West reporter, will be swapping Paul Pogba and Ole Gunnar Solskjær for Jeff Hughes and Tiernan Lynch as they arrive in Larne for a weekend of filming to highlight the monumental strides taken by the club both on and off the pitch over the past season.

The coverage will include interviews with players and staff, match footage and an insight into the impact we have had on the community over the past 18 months, culminating in lifting the trophy following next Saturday’s game at home to Portadown.

Looking ahead to his visit, James said: “I’m really excited to be coming back to Larne, a place I know really well and a club I last visited in what seems like a different age.

“We’re coming to tell people about the journey the club and the town have been on and where that’s going to take them. But it’s more than just a footballing fairytale we want to show everyone what the town of Larne is all about.

“I have a lot of special memories of Larne and of some special people who made a Queens’ student from England feel so welcome and I can’t wait to see what will be the first of many trophies to come.”

The club’s Media Officer Ian Cahoon said: “As a club we have seen a huge increase in interest from the local press and media, but this takes things to another level.

“The trophy presentation and celebrations next Saturday will be memorable for the whole town – it’s the first title in a generation –  and now we have the chance to showcase it to the whole of the U.K.

“It’s another reason to get to Inver Park next Saturday, and we are really looking forward to welcoming James and his team.”

Let’s show the world the ways in which we #Aspire2Inspire and what the #RAWA can do!
