We are delighted to announce that Ryan McConville has been appointed as the new Ladies Academy Director at the club.

Ryan (pictured with William Noble and Gary Hood) comes to the club with a wealth of experience in the women’s game locally, having coached at Linfield Ladies and Sion Swifts.

He has also spent the last two decades coaching around the world, in places such as China, Russia, America and South Africa.

Now he is intent helping to put Larne Ladies on the map, as the club continues to making exciting progress at all age levels.

“I’m delighted to be joining a club like Larne, it’s been no secret that the success on the men’s side has flourished,” he said.

“I was approached to see if I would be interested in taking on the role with the Ladies side of the club with the aim of emulating what is happening with men’s side of the club.

“We’re going to try to make Larne Ladies a side to be reckoned with in years to come.

“It will take work on the structures of the youth side of the club, and pathways on how the girls move up and down through the age groups.

“We want to be ready to, hopefully, compete in the Championship and in the long-term we are aiming for NIFL.”

Ryan is excited to get started in the role and believes there is huge potential for the women’s game to grow in the local community.

He added: “The club is an area which is untapped and the surrounding areas as well.

“There’s no secret that Linfield, Glentoran, Crusaders and Cliftonville all have established women’s sides and academies feeding into that.

“There’s a lot of good work from those places that we have to take as a blueprint, but there’s a lot of potential there if we continue to take things seriously and put all of the structures in place.”
