WE are delighted to announce the appointment of Niall Curneen as the club’s new General Manager.

Niall’s role will be to co-ordinate the running of the club on a day-to-day basis, bringing together the various aspects of the operation.

We have enjoyed rapid growth in the past two seasons, with the first phase of work at Inver Park complete. On the pitch we have returned to the Danske Bank Premiership, with a full-time first team squad now in place.

Larne Ladies have re-formed and, together with Larne Youth, are now playing under one new, unified badge.

Season Ticket sales are at unprecedented levels and the club believe Niall’s new role will continue to ensure the smooth running of an ever-expanding operation.

“I am delighted to have been appointed to this role,” Niall said.

“This, of course, will involve myself working closely with the board, Tiernan Lynch, and the club’s volunteers, who we are indebted to. We will also be working hard to grow the pool of those volunteers in the coming weeks and months.

“In terms of my position within the academy, I will gradually be taking a step back from this in order to focus on the role of General Manger within the club.

“Gary Haveron will be continuing in his work in this area and discussions at an advanced stage with a replacement.”

Commenting on the appointment of Niall to this new role, Kenny Bruce said: “I’m so pleased Niall has agreed to take this position.

“He is someone we have seen at close quarters working for and alongside the club.

“We believe he is the ideal man for this and it is another very significant step for us as we move forward to meet out objectives.

“There is a huge season ahead and we aim to be in best possible shape for this challenge, both on and off the field.

“Bring in people of Niall’s calibre helps us massively. He has the skillset needed for this role, is very well respected both in the club and the town, and has a fantastic work ethic.”

Niall’s new role will take place with immediate effect.
