FIRST team manager Tiernan Lynch has confirmed that midfielder Matthew Henry is leaving the club.

Matthew was signed for the club from Cliftonville by then Larne boss David McAlinden in the summer of 2016.

He made himself an integral part in the midfield of his local club, and despite a number of players leaving at the end of that season was re-signed by Tiernan Lynch the following summer.

Matthew was an almost ever present in the side during the 2017/18 campaign when the Invermen made it to the semi-finals of the Irish Cup.

Last season, he found opportunities harder to come by and spent the second half of the season on loan at Knockbreda.

“I want to thank Matthew for his commitment to the club over the last three seasons, and the two in which I have been here,” said Tiernan Lynch.

“He is a local lad and it always meant a lot to him to pull on the Larne shirt.

“He leaves the club with our very best wishes and, at this stage of his career, it is important for him to play regular football and I’m sure he can find that going forward.”

All the club wish Matthew every success going forward and thank him for his efforts and commitment at Inver Park.
