Matchday Guide: Larne v Ballymena United

Aug 15, 2019 | Archive

Saturday afternoon will see the Invermen take on Ballymena United in our second home game of the season, and our third game in seven days of what has been a busy first week of Danske Bank Premiership action.

Provided below is all of the information which both sets of supporters will need to be aware of, to ensure the matchday experience on offer is maximised by everyone.

CASHLESS TURNSTILES

Similarly, to last Saturday, we will be operating a no cash at the turnstiles approach on matchday. Matchday tickets will be available for purchase from 1pm from the ticket office in the building formerly occupied by The Wee Bar. Turnstiles will open at 1.45pm and we would encourage supporters to get into the ground early and give the team their vocal backing during the warm up.

Season Tickets holders will not need to collect a ticket on matchday, as they can gain entry under the same format as last season, by swiping their card at the turnstile. Season Tickets will be on sale from 12-2pm from the club offices on Saturday for those yet to renew or any new members wishing to purchase for the first time. Want to save time? Buy now at www.smartclubsolutions.com and pick up your card on Saturday.

Away supporters will gain access to our Bleach Green End stand via the Church Road entrance. Due to limited capacity supporters must purchase tickets in advance of the game and present these at the turnstile.

CAR PARKING

Parking at First Larne Church will NOT be available this Saturday, with Church Road and Inver Road also having restricted access. Supporters are advised to park early in the day at Riverdale and Laharna Retail Park before the game. Those with parking passes for Inver Park must arrive before 2pm to gain access to the parking area.

SOCIAL CLUB / CLUB SHOP

The renovated Social Club located in the main car park of the ground will be serving both alcoholic and soft drinks for club members. We will be showing live football both before and after the game.  Please note that visitors to the social club must be signed in by a club member/season ticket holder.

Our club shop will be open from 2pm selling our range of official club merchandise.

MATCHDAY EXPERIENCE

Last week’s matchday experience initiatives were a fantastic success, and we plan to continue and improve on this throughout the season. Our half-time entertainment for this week will be a lap of honour by our Larne Ladies first team, who this week secured back-to-back promotions, meaning they will play in NIWFA Division 1 next season. This will include on pitch interviews with management and players.

AT FULL-TIME

Following co-ordination with the PSNI and our Supporter Liaison Officers, it has been agreed that home supporters will be kept in the stadium for five minutes after the full-time whistle in an attempt to reduce congestion.

Supporter Liaison Officer Richard Todd had the following to say: “It is vitally important that we reduce congestion around the Inver Park area as much as possible both before and after kick-off this weekend. For that reason, I would encourage all supporters to firstly get in to the ground early where possible and soak up the matchday experience.

“Post game, please remain patient with stewards and officials for the five minutes after full-time. Use this time to show your appreciation to our players, who have had a fantastic start to life in the Danske Bank Premiership.”
