The Opposition

St Joseph’s are no strangers to European football in recent years, including a memorable Europa League qualfying tie with Rangers in 2019. The club were in the seeded pot for this draw, having qualified for European football in each of the last six consecutive seasons.

Gibraltar’s oldest existing football club reached this summer’s competition having finished third in the National League and, this summer, appointed a new manager, in the form of former player Abraham Paz.

The Inver Reds

There have been a few changes in the Invermen’s personnel this summer, particularly in the middle of the park meaning that it will be something of a new look Larne team who take to the park at the Victoria Stadium. Tiernan Lynch’s side go into the game off the back of a solid friendly performance against The New Saints last week.

While the tie represents a step into the unknown, the club will no doubt be keen to build on last season’s impressive European debut, which saw a memorable run to the Third Qualifying Round of the same competition. Following tomorrow’s first leg, the two sides will meet again at Inver Park on Thursday 14th July (7.45pm).

You can secure your place for the second leg at Inver, by buying a ticket for the game HERE.
