Larne under-18’s continued their excellent start to the season, with a 1-0 win at home to Maiden City on Friday evening.

The game began with the visitors pressing high and unsettling the home side, however after 15 minutes Larne had the ball in the net, only for the goal to be ruled offside.

On 25 minutes, the home side did take the lead with David Kernohan confidently heading home Sterrett’s cross.

In the second period, Larne were very comfortable in possession throughout and had chances to increase the lead, but held on for a 1-0 win to make it two victories in as many matches at the start of the season.

Head coach Darrin Crawford (pictured) said: “It was another good win for the team.

“The boys rode their luck a bit in the first half but were very composed in possession during the 2nd half.”

The under-18’s are home again on Friday night, this time welcoming Limavady, for an 8pm kick-off.
