LARNE Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Dean Jarvis from Dundalk.

Dean, 27, left Oriel Park last month following the expiry of his contract after two successful years at the League of Ireland Champions.

He enjoyed a hugely successful two years at Oriel Park, where he won two SSE Airtricity Premier Division titles in a row. He also collected winners medals in the FAI Cup, EA Sports Cup, President’s Cup and Unite the Union Champions Cup.

Before this Dean, a left-sided player who is comfortable in defence or midfield, began his career with Aberdeen. He returned home to play for Institute, before making more than 100 appearances at Derry City.

Last season, he made 27 appearances in all competitions for Dundalk.

His  focus now turns to Inver Park, where he will be eligible to play once the transfer window opens in January.

Speaking after putting pen to paper at Inver, he said: “The club are obviously on a journey and I want to be a part of that.

“It’s only the start of where the club want to go and the club feel they can really push on over the next couple of years.

“It’s clear from speaking to Tiernan and Kenny that there is a really tight-knit community here and the team are a big part of it.

“It’s a different challenge for me, playing in the Premiership of the Irish League now, and I’ve kept an eye on it over the last few weeks, including watching the Larne matches.

“I’m excited to get going.”

We will have a full interview with our new signing on the club’s social media channels later this evening.
