Larne Football Club is delighted to announce that four key members of the first team squad have signed contract extensions.

Conor Devlin, Marty Donnelly, Jeff Hughes and Davy McDaid have all signed extended deals, which take them through until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Conor Devlin has been at the club for the longest out of the four players, having arrived at Inver in September 2017. Having helped the club to the Irish Cup semi-finals in 2018 and the Bluefin Sport Championship title last season, he has kept an impressive nine clean sheets in all competitions this term.

Club captain Jeff Hughes returned to the club ahead of the 2018/19 season, winning promotion last year and proving to be a key player again during our Premiership return.

Marty Donnelly has been a revelation during his two years at Inver Park so far, leading the way in the goalscoring and assists charts during that time. His form last season was rewarded when he was named as the Ulster Football player of the year.

Davy McDaid, having arrived at the club in January 2018, helped fire the club to promotion last season, finishing as the club’s top goalscorer. He is also coming into top form in recent weeks, with three goals in his last two outings.

Boss Tiernan Lynch was delighted to see all four sign extensions. He said: “We talked to all four about extending their stays at the club and thankfully they were very keen to do so.

“They are players who came in when no-one else really wanted to come to Larne.

“They are big players and important people for us, they have helped to galvanise the changing room at times.

“We’re delighted that they’re going to come with us on the next part of the journey.

“A big part of Larne Football Club is the culture we’re creating off the field, as well as on it, and these four boys play a big part in that culture.

“They are four players who are fans’ favourites and you can see why.”
