The directors, staff, members and supporters of Larne Football Club deeply regret to learn of the death of Billy McFaul, on Thursday 5th August.

Billy was a popular figure around Inver Park for many, many years, having been the doorman in the 1980’s and 90’s.

He will be fondly remembered by many at the club as some who always had time for a chat and had a great sense of humour.

Chairman Gareth Clements said: “It was with great sadness that I learned this week of the passing of Billy McFaul.

“Billy, a native of Quay Street, was a stalwart of Larne Football Club when I was growing up  as doorman in the social club when Maurice O’Toole was bar steward.

“Billy also played for the club’s pool team, as did his son Billy Jnr. The thoughts of Larne Football Club are with the wider McFaul family at this sad time.”

The club would like to tender their deepest sympathy to his sons Billy and Jeff, his grandchildren and the wider family circle at this time.
