Fans are Inver a treat this Christmas

Christmas is just around the corner – and we have plenty planned to celebrate the festive period with you.

A number of events have been planned around Inver Park and 1889 Sports and Social Club over the next month in anticipation of the big day.

Starting on Sunday 4th December, the Kids’ Christmas Party will take place for children between the ages of 5 and 11 years old. This will take place from 2-5pm, with a Kids’ disco, Santa’s Grotto and tea and coffee available for adults.

On Saturday 10th December, football takes centre-stage as Larne take on Newry City at Inver Park. In what is the final game before Christmas at Inver Park, you can be guaranteed of a festive atmosphere with Santa leading the teams out before the game. Post-match entertainment will be held at 1889 Sports and Social Club after the game until late.

The following day (Sunday 11th) at 1889 Sports and Social Club will see the Teen Christmas Party take place. For those aged between 11-16 years old, there will be a disco, football on the pitch and games consoles on offer! This event will take place between 2-5pm.

On Saturday 17th December, it’s time for the Season Ticket Holder’s Christmas Party in the 1889 Sports & Social Club. Starting at 4.30pm, enjoy an acoustic set from 4.45pm before a DJ takes over to take the party into the night. There will be festive treats and drinks available for the occasion including mince pies and mulled wine!

The following day (Sunday 18th) there will be a Extern kid’s Christmas event held at 1889 Sports and Social Club. Taking place from 2-4pm, there will be lots of fun-filled festive activities including glitter tattoos, face painting, a disco, visit from Santa and much more! Entry will cost £2 for kids and £1 for adults.

On the Tuesday evening (20th December), the annual Carol Service will take place at Inver Park. This event is free to attend for everyone in what promises to be an event to celebrate, with music by the 1st Larne OB Silver Band and local school choirs. The Carol Service will begin at 7pm, with refreshments served in the 1889 afterwards.

On Christmas Eve, 1889 Sports and Social Club will be open and The Castaways will be on stage from 4-7pm to get the Christmas party started. The Social Club will also be open on Christmas Day for festive pints from 2-4pm.

It’s a local derby on Boxing Day as Larne welcome rivals Carrick Rangers to Inver Park for a battle of bragging rights. The match will kick-off at the later time of 5:30pm and you can enjoy all of the Boxing Day football live in the 1889 Sports and Social Club from 12pm. After the match, there will be entertainment in 1889 until late.

Don’t forget, there will be a pop-up Official Larne Football Club Shop on Larne Main Street at the former NFU Mutual building from the 12th – 24th December. You will be able to purchase all of the official club merchandise including our Nike training and kit range, gifts and accessories and exclusive Christmas items.
