County Antrim Shield final: the Matchday Guide

Tiernan Lynch will be hoping to lead the Invermen to their first senior trophy since 1987 as they bid to overcome Mick McDermott’s Glentoran in Wednesday night’s County Antrim Shield final at Seaview. Kick off for Wednesday’s final will be 7.45pm.

Tickets and Entry

Unfortunately, no fans will be permitted entry to Wednesday’s game due to current Covid-19 restrictions. Supporters will still be able to support the Inver Reds from home as a streaming service will be made available with all information included below.

Live Streaming

Wednesday’s live stream will be a joint venture between both clubs and it can be purchased via the following link: https://www.247.tv/gaa/niprem/video/1171247-glentoran-v-larne-antrim-cup-final-wednesday-2nd-dec-2020-19-45pm

The stream will cost £7.50 to purchase with all proceeds being split between the two clubs. BBC Sport NI’s Michael Clarke will be on commentating duties on Wednesday night and he will be joined on co-commentary by former Larne stalwart John McKinstry. Also, on the mic will be Glentoran legend Paul Leeman. The build-up show starts at 7.15pm.

The Opposition

Glentoran come into Wednesday’s final having picked up their first league win of the season, thumping Dungannon Swifts 5-1 at the Oval. Their road to the final includes second round a win on penalties against Ards and a narrow 1-0 victory against Cliftonville in the Semi-Final.

The Inver Reds

Larne go into their first senior final since 2005 on a blistering run of form, defeating Coleraine at the weekend to make it three wins on the bounce, a result that saw them leapfrog Linfield into 1st position in the league standings at this early stage of the campaign. Tiernan Lynch’s men have made this year’s final with wins against Ballyclare Comrades, Crusaders and Linfield, scoring ten goals and conceding just one in the process.
