Captain’s Corner – Thursday 17th October

Speaking to the club’s website this week, club Captain Jeff Hughes looks forward on Friday night’s Danske Bank Premiership clash with Glentoran.

He said: “As a group, we are really looking forward to getting back under the floodlights at Inver Park on Friday. Last time we were at home in the league we picked up a fantastic result against Glenavon.

“Our performance that night was exceptional and was really helped by vocal backing from the crowd who have been fantastic all season.

“We will be looking to avenge Tuesday nights result and get three points on the board. Tuesday night’s exit from the County Antrim shield was a tough one to take but we will be looking to go out on Friday night and put in a positive performance and get back to winning ways.

“As Tuesday proved, Glentoran are a very good side on a similar journey to ourselves, so we know that we need to be top of our game if we are to get anything on Friday.

“I’m sure they will be brimming with confidence after some of their recent results but we know that we know what we are capable of when we have our home support behind us, we have the belief in ourselves that we can go and get a positive result.

“I’m sure there will be a lively atmosphere at the game, and we hope to see a large vocal home support as this really helps to drive us on during the game.  We hope to see you there on Friday night.”
