Captain Jeff Hughes has praised the club’s supporters for their backing of the team as he spoke to us ahead of Saturday’s game at home to Institute.

Larne come into Saturday’s game at Inver Park looking to get back on track after two narrow defeats on the bounce, in the Dasnke Bank Premiership.

Reflecting on the recent defeat to Glentoran Jeff said: “Last Friday night was another tough one to take for us, we thought that we played really well and deserved at least a draw out of the game.

“Credit to Glentoran who took their chances on the night. A special mention has to go to our fans who were superb yet again, they acted like the 12th man and created a fantastic atmosphere. I think that if we keep playing well, then results will come our way.

“It was fantastic to be under the lights at Inver again and to play such a game with the BBC cameras there is fantastic for the club as we continue our club’s journey.

Looking towards Saturday’s game against Institute, Hughes said: “Institute are not to be taken lightly, we played them away earlier in the year and they gave us a really good game.

“We look to get back to winning ways and I call on our supporters to turn out in their numbers again and get behind the team like they have been all season.

“We look forward to seeing you all there on Saturday afternoon.”
