We are very pleased to announce the signing of 22-year-old goalkeeper Mike Argyrides.

The Canadian shot stopper arrived in Northern Ireland last year, signing for Championship club Dundela in September 2020, before their season was cut short with restrictions around Covid-19.

Since then, Mike has been training with the senior men’s side at Inver Park with boss Tiernan Lynch quick to add him to his squad ahead of the new season.

Mike has previously represented Ontario-based Vaughan Azzurri in his native Canada, before making the switch to the UK, through former Larne Goalkeeping coach Michael Dougherty.

Having spent time with the squad at Inver Park, Mike is keen to officially get started. He explained his route to football this side of the Atlantic.

He said: “Last year I was playing football in university and, due to Covid, our season was cut short.

“I was looking forward to an option to continue to play football and was put in touch with NI GK, run by Michael Dougherty.

“I ended up signing with Dundela where we were only able to play two competitive games and now I’m here at Larne.

“It’s been great to spend to time around the club, and I’ve learned lots from the goalkeepers I’ve worked with and Alan Blayney so far.”
