We are delighted to announce Andy Scott has signed a one year contract extension at the club.

The former Accrington Stanley winger joined the club in the summer of 2020, and is currently enjoying his breakthrough season.

The 21-year-old grabbed the first goal of his Larne career in the County Antrim Shield tie away to Ballymena United this season, before setting the Invermen en route to victory at the Oval on New Year’s Day and following it up with another strike against Bangor in the Irish Cup.

His new contract will take him through to the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

“I’m delighted, I’ve really enjoyed myself here and I feel this is the right place for me to be,” he said.

“Last season I probably didn’t get the game time I hoped for, but this year I have been able to and I’m really enjoying it and feel I’m progressing well.

“I just want to keep my foot in the door and getting starts and minutes under my belt.

“I’ve been able to get my first goals and assists this season and things have really kicked on for me.”

Larne boss Tiernan Lynch is also delighted to see Andy extend his stay at the club.

“You need players knocking on the door to be included with how they perform and Andy has certainly done that this season,” he added.

“Andy has deservedly got more game time this season has really grabbed his chance and is continuing to work hard to develop.

“He’s one of those players who keeps you awake on a Friday night because he’s given you a good selection headache and long may it continue.”

The Invermen’s next outing is at home to Cliftonville on Friday evening, with a 7.45pm kick-off under the Inver Park lights. Tickets can be purchased here: www.larnefc.com/tickets
